Frequently asked questions for applicants

Rental housing can be applied for by young adults under the age of 30. At these addresses, there are a few larger apartments available that people over 30 can apply for. In these buildings, the contracts are open-ended, so you can live there as long as you like.

Because our apartments are built with government support as rental housing (known as ARA apartments), we follow guidelines set by ARA when selecting residents. This means we aim to offer apartments to those who need them the most, for instance people who are becoming independent or who are homeless.

It’s impossible to give an exact waiting time for getting an apartment. The selection also depends the vacant apartments and on how urgently the applicant needs an apartment. Since our apartments are state-subsidized rental apartments (so-called ARA apartments), we comply with the instructions provided by the Housing Finance and Development Centre of Finland (ARA) when choosing tenants so that apartments are first offered to those who need them the most.

Please note, that there will be no progress reports regarding your application. Once we have received your apartment application, you are automatically included in our tenant selection process. We will contact you by phone or e-mail if we have an apartment to offer you.

Studio apartments and apartments located in the most central locations have the most applicants. Larger apartments, perfect for family or communal living, are more often vacant.

Tip! If you are in a hurry, you should include as many houses as possible in your application.

Your application is valid for 4 months. A suitable apartment may not, however, become available during this period of time, so you should keep the application up to date and matching your situation. Please remove your application if you no longer need an apartment.

We are a non-profit company and we strive to keep the amount of rents as affordable as possible. The rent of a single home depends, among other things, on the city/rural district, size of the apartment, and the location and age of the house.

You can see the rent level of different houses and apartments in the Apartments page.
